By YellowcardMitch 5 Rating me and my communist friends all got together and planned them all.

By brunodpnunes 5 Rating Just tell me please, which corporation grew up to such point they didn`t need a politician in their pocket? At certain point all of them stinks!

By HarmieV 4 Rating Honestly people we are a capitalist nation which makes corporations a good thing. Speculation is what is dragging the economy into the crapper time and again. The politics in DC are large part of that picture too. But thriving business means jobs and job security which in turn means a good economy for everyone from CEOs to janitors.

By OWBinSV 4 Rating My hippie step-sister. With her state govt unionized job, she can go to NY (she lives in New England) and protest… And still get paid! (ironic how she`s protesting people who fleece the system for money, isn`t it?)

By Ma007 2 Rating Yea, my ex-boss.

By Kermie 2 Rating No, not all corporations are evil. In fact some of them do a lot of good for the planet. On the other hand, corporations are also responsible for the housing bubble, the economic collapse, oil spills, dangerous fracking, spiraling credit fees, outrageous health care and health insurance costs, bloated and irresponsible government contracts, trillions of tax dollars in bailouts… And yet Congress continues to give them more and more money and less and less oversight. Congress also allows them to get away with paying in some cases zero taxes. Nearly every politician is in the pocket of whatever industries are prevalent in their districts. I can only fault corporations to a point–their purpose is to make money not to be ethical. And so it`s our job to pay attention, speak up, and hold them accountable. Thank goodness people are actually starting to pay attention to what`s happening around them.

By MyNameIsYours 2 Rating Kermie, which corporations artificially lowered interest rates and created incentives for giving mortgages to people that couldn`t afford them? Which corporations restricted drilling in safer places so that we were more prone to have oil spills and falsely assured the people that their oversight would prevent oil spills? Which corporations have had an ever expanding role in healthcare since they began massive healthcare entitlements in 1965? Which corporations decide which contracts the government makes? Which corporations voted to pass the bailouts? The federal government`s overreach has been at the root of many of our economic problems. You`re right about one thing. Congress does continue to subsidize corporations when it shouldn`t be picking winners and losers. End the subsidies. But you are being deceptive when you say “give them… less oversight.” Saying it like that makes it sound like we have and always have had the regulations which we have now. Also, what deregulation are you talking about? The number of pages in the Federal Register increases (though not monotonically). You think it`s our job to hold them accountable. That`s good, but how do you get from “our job” to “the federal government`s job.” They aren`t the same thing.

By Mclem52 2 Rating No,but the issues we are having today are brought on by both large corporations and the politicians they pay to do their bidding. Wall Street and their friends will do anything to make more money irregardless of how much damage it does the our country. A corporation has only one purpose,to give the highest return on investment. Period.

By Jascharl 2 Rating No, all of my friends are capitalist luvrs

By Cowboy 1 Rating Oh they know excatly what they want Rdc. They`re Communists. They want the destruction of America and a Communist revolution. They`re just upset that Obama hasn`t gone far enough left. I don`t know how you can get any more left than Marx, Lenin, or Chavez, but they`re stupid college kids, being led to slaughter, by the DNC and the unions. And this Communist movement is being praised by the President himself, and some members of Congress, such as Nancy Pelosi. I know… Shocking right?

By lowcarbonlife 1 Rating Kermie: no corporations are evil! Corporations are amoral money making machines. They are not capable of being evil or compassionate. They are required by law to make as much money as they can. That`s all they do.

I would love to but what we need is about 7,000,000 people on the National Mall in DC protesting the corruption between Wall Street and our Politicians. It needs to stop and they need to focus on doing what`s right for ALL Americans not just the rich otherwise we are all doomed.
